Decorating . . . My love

Living on a Military base, your home your given is either very nice or not nice at all. We have lived in both. When Ryan and I first moved into our first house in Alaska, we were sad at what was given to us but greatful that this was going to be our new home as a newlywed couple. Well, we lived there for about 10 months before we were flooded out of our house with sewage. It was AWEFUL !! It was only in the basement but that also was our laundry area along with storage area so we did loose alot in damages. Homeowners insurances Rocks !! They Air force was so kind and full of apologies and said that they would make it up to us. So in a 24 hour period, we moved !! It was tough, hard and unexpected but we did what we had to do. The Lord blessed us with the nicest house. Its really cute. We have more than we could ask for with it being only Ryan, Spencer and I. We have 3 bedreooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dinning room, extra room and kitchen....did i mention 28 foot Ceilings?? Thank you Jesus !! So since then, we have turned this house into our home. Its so frusterating living in a military house because the walls are white and you can paint them, but then you have to paint them back....it is too much to do and too much money waisted especially since were here for only 18 mos. I am posting some pictures - we have rid of all of our old furniture and everything is new....In fact ( I am surprising Ryan with a 52" this weekend) But here are a couple of NEW pictures, I wish I had before pics but i dont.
There is a island bar that connect the kitchen to the dinning room,
you cant see it in this pic but you can in the first one
Yes I know my hair looks amazing !!

I have the rest of the house to show you too....They will be added later !!
Ohh I also wanted to share what a fabulous cook I have become !!

Yummy

My Good Deeds

Today, I was on my way back to the office from lunch with Ryan when I spotted a terrified dog in the middle of 4 lanes of traffic ( two going one way and the other two going the opposite). My heart immediately dropped to my stomach as I knew what I had to do, while praying for the puppy until I got there. Her name was Jonah and she was beautiful. She did have tags and a collar on so I immediately made calls. She was so sweet and she shook my hand, she panted with fear and thirst so of coarse I stopped to get her what she needed while waiting for the owner to return my call. We had some good talks in our short time together and I did pray with her that she was happy and had good parents. I met the parents at a local church here in Anchorage and they were very nice and seemed like wonderful greatful people. I pray for my new buddie Jonah's happiness and safety always. I already miss her- I thought I finally found Spencer a big sister.
Sweet Sweet Jonah

I also surprised my 3 sisters with tickets to go see "Wicked" yesterday just because I love them so much. I didnt realize at the time of purchase that I bought the tickets for Mothers Day so I had to tell my mom as soon as I found out so I would quit feeling terrible. They said they had a "Wicked" time and I know I wouldve given anything to have been with them too.

Mrs. Alaska Pageant

I have not blogged in a while, I am needing to catch up !! The pageant finally arrived on May 1st, 2010. I had a wonderful time and made some unforgetable memories. I did not win but I enjoyed every minute of it anyways. Its so much fun ( for me ) to stay involved in the community anyway that I am able to, along with create a scrapbook of memories to look back on with no regrets. Oneday, memories will be all that we have ! Here is some pictures of the pageant !

Work . . Work. . Work. .

Proposals, Meetings, Phone Calls, Commercials, Production, Avails, Stratagies, Goals and Deadlines echo through my mind . .  I love my job ! Working in the television industry has many perks but is in high demand and can come off as stressful but I enjoy the rush! I stay very entertained and I also find so many ways to entertain myself. I enjoy every corner of my job and love to be very involved. I care so much about each one of my clients it is so much fun to make each one feel so important ! Just wanted to share a walk through of a day at ABC with you !
Wake up 6 am and begin my day, not always a morning person
So I must have my coffee in the mornings. Everyday I go to the same coffee hut in Anchorage. Its nice to have your coffee ready before you even get there. Makes you feel special. Then I start to think how happy that made me feel so I begin to wonder how I can make someone else feel as important in my goal for the day.
In the Mornings, I map out my goal for the day/week. I usually schedule all my appointments in the morning and view my schedule for the day. I have learned to become VERY organized, but I enjoy organization so it makes work more enjoyable and fun.
On a busy day, I stay busy working on scripts, and being very involved in production needs. I try to make something as big as production easy on my clients, that way its exciting for them. I do everything from co-direct with our production team, to script creation or commercial layout- and yes sometimes I do get to join in; depends on what were doing!
I have done voice-overs. . .
And Charity Events. .

And look forward to getting my seat at the big table soon enough !

Fur Rondy Excitement

"On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Then they remembered his words. -- Luke 24:1-8 NIV

~Missing So Many~

I took Ryan to the airport on Saturday morning for him to fly into San Antonio, Texas for his EMEDS. Ryan is ( like I have told you) in the medical field with the Air Force so this is training for "if" he was to be deployed, this would be similar to a hospital he would be working in a field somewhere. He's been in a hospital tent and studying different things he wouldn’t normally see where he works in the hospital now. So I have been all by myself in beautiful Alaska, well, I have my sweet baby Spencer that has been so wonderful. I have the sweetest dog ever; he is so humble and precious. I have stayed busy recording all of our shows that Ryan’s missed, cleaning the house, exercising, playing with Spencer, working and cooking for one instead of two. I couldn’t imagine my life alone with out Ryan, even though he is only gone for a week; it’s like your missing something all the time. I have missed everything big and small not having him around, I can not imagine my life with out him and I thank God for that everyday. It has been so nice talking to my family on Skype and staying included in family time. Harrison and I have stayed busy playing peek-a-boo on Skype, while be fed through a computer with the family. I miss them every moment of everyday; its so wonderful to have the appreciation for small and big things and not taking one second of any minute forgranted with the ones you love. I can say that i really do live like I am dying and its good to live that way. You live to the fullest, you live honestly and you don't miss any opportunity that comes your way and you shouldn't, I don't. Im posting some pictures of the ones I miss, I love you all and I am so thankful for the love and friendships we share, I couldn't ask God for one more thing, that would only be selfish, people pray for what we have, and I am ever so thankful. I love you!  <3 Courtneylee

Eva Foundation

I am very excited to announce that I will be the spokeperson in platform use for the EVA FOUNDATION for Mrs. Alaska United States. I am very excited to work with this organization and to help grow such a powerful charity in any way possible. Visit their website if you would like to donate or see how you could be a part of the Eva Foundation aswell . Here some info from their site :  www.evafoundationalaska.org/

WHY IT MATTERS?

Quote: Abuse affects families in all income brackets. Most victims are women who find themselves in the untenable position of choosing between a financially secure yet abusive relationship and freedom from abuse at the cost of loss of financial support.

According to the statistics provided by the Anchorage Police Department, victims attempt to leave their abusers seven times on average before making a permanent separation. We want to make it easier for abuse victims to start independent lives by providing esteem building goods and services to help them find jobs, seek normal relationships or just reenter society.

The Eva Foundation board members are volunteers who have joined together to provide amenities to all victims of abuse: male and female, young and old, in Anchorage. End Quote.

***Update: Looks like the pageant dates are moving forward.
Waiting for the new date at anytime, still ready and excited.***             -Courtney
